On 2–6 February 2026, the first transnational mobility within the Erasmus+ project “From Diversity to Unity” took place, hosted by Kauno Maironio Universitetinė Gimnazija in Kaunas, Lithuania. The event brought together an international delegation of 24 students and 8 teachers from partner countries: Poland, Romania, Turkey, and Lithuania.
Under the common theme of the mobility, “Empowering through Diversity: Gender Equality,” participants engaged in a rich programme of activities aimed at promoting inclusivity, intercultural understanding, and counteracting stereotypes.
Day 1: Integration and Setting the Framework for Cooperation
The week began with ice-breaking activities and a tour of the host school, fostering mutual acquaintance among participants. During a working session, students took part in workshops on gender equality, where principles of respectful and tolerant communication were established. The day concluded with a guided tour of Kaunas Old Town led by students from the host school.
Day 2: Democratic Institutions and Cultural Heritage
Participants went on a study visit to Vilnius, to the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson of the Republic of Lithuania. This meeting allowed students to learn about institutional mechanisms for the protection of human rights at the national level. The cultural part of the day included a visit to Trakai, where students participated in culinary workshops and learned about a traditional Lithuanian dish – kibinai.
Day 3: Personal Development and Role Models of Success
The third day focused on building self-esteem (“Boosting Self-Esteem”). It began with a workshop led by psychologist Gabriele Pociute, followed by a meeting with Dr. Estela Daukšienė, an academic lecturer and a successful woman in the field of education, who spoke about the challenges and opportunities in women’s professional careers. Lunch became a special moment of cultural exchange — it was prepared by students in the school’s culinary workshop (traditional beetroot soup). The day concluded with digital activities using Canva to organise and consolidate the knowledge gained.
Day 4: Art and Human Dignity
Under the motto “Non Omnis Moriar” (“I shall not wholly die”), students explored the concepts of beauty and human dignity through art. The programme included creative workshops and a visit to the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, where participants had the opportunity to experience 3D autostereograms. The day was complemented by a guided tour of Kaunas, with particular emphasis on the city’s modernist architecture, valued for its historical significance.
Day 5: Evaluation, Dissemination, and Future Plans
The final day was dedicated to reflection and evaluation of the activities. Students completed a digital mobility diary (photos, videos, and written materials), which was prepared for dissemination on the eTwinning platform and Google Sites. An important moment was also the selection of the official project logo — the winning design was submitted by “Avram Iancu” School from Câmpia Turzii. The mobility concluded with a formal certificate ceremony.
The implementation of this mobility significantly contributed to the development of English communication skills, deepened participants’ knowledge of European mechanisms supporting gender equality, and strengthened cooperation among partner schools.
