Konak Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi
Konak Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Science and Art Centre (BİLSEM) is a public institution providing supplementary education for gifted and talented students aged 8–18 in the fields of General Mental Ability, Visual Arts, and Music.
Our centre serves approximately 700 students from diverse socio-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. We aim to help students maximize their potential through project-based, interdisciplinary and individualized learning experiences. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills while working on real-life projects.
Our institution is equipped with modern learning environments, including FABLAB and robotics laboratories, ICT and coding classrooms, a mathematics and illusion museum, a library, music technologies laboratory, as well as science, art, language, literature, history, geography and social sciences workshops. Innovative educational approaches such as STEM, CLIL, Virtual Reality (VR), coding, digital technologies and project-based learning are integrated into our educational activities.
Our students actively participate in national and international projects, scientific studies, cultural activities, social responsibility initiatives and competitions. They have developed innovative products and solutions in areas such as robotics, coding, engineering and assistive technologies.
As an Erasmus+ partner institution, we have participated in numerous international projects and continue to promote intercultural dialogue, digital transformation, sustainability, inclusion and global citizenship through collaborative learning experiences.
